Undoubtedly those members who have frequented the CUMA site have noticed
a distinct change in structure and design…. Things are changing…

History

In the fall of 1973, several castable urethane processors and suppliers located in the Toronto area found the need to have a joint meeting to discuss the Health and Safety aspects of the Polyurethane industry and, how, together the group could generate information for every processor in Canada to improve working conditions and safety aspects of their operations. This was the start of the Canadian Urethane Manufacturers Association as part of the Association arm of the Canadian Manufacturers Association (CMA). A Constitution and By-laws were initiated with the late Warren Carter as the first President. In 1983, there was a management change and CUMA was no longer involved with CMA Management and has grown from 25 members to 49 in 2009
